Mary Joseph joined St. Albert’s College as Assistant Professor in the Department of Botany in March 2011 after a long stint of eleven years at Rajagiri Public School, Kalamassery, a CMI-managed institution. In the Department, she handles both UG and PG classes. She underwent her collegiate education at St. Teresa’s College, Ernakulam, after her schooling at Carmel Convent, Kolkata. She has been a rank holder at the post-graduate level at the Mahatma Gandhi University in 1999. Her passion for teaching led her to pursue the B.Ed. course at Mount Carmel College of Education, Kottayam, soon after which she started her teaching career in the year 2000. Currently, she has registered for her Doctoral Degree in the field of
Phytochemistry in ferns, and has an international publication to her credit. She has always worked towards imparting holistic education rich in values, and had therefore taken up the role of Arts and Sports Coordinator of the Department for a number of years, along with the responsibility of Examination Coordinator. She has served as Department Secretary and Staff Secretary of the College as well as donned the role of Dean, Student Affairs. Her whole-hearted involvement with the Navadarsan Junior Scientist Programme ever since its inception reveals her social commitment. Her creativity, talents and skills have indeed helped her to carve a niche for herself among her students.
