Dr. Mary Sapna Peter Miranda joined St. Albert’s College in 2014. She has been instrumental in designing and conducting the Albertian English Language Programme, a compulsory English language learning programme for the first year students of the College. She is part of various Committees in the College related to Research, Admissions and Examination. Her research was first of its kind which aimed to look at the various factors that help/impede second language acquisition of English in the Open and Distance mode compared to the traditional mode of teaching-learning, funded by the Research and Teaching Assistantship Programme under MHRD, IGNOU, New Delhi. Her other areas of interest include Socio linguistics, Criticism, Gender Studies, American Literature and Poetry. She has published many research articles and is on the editorial board of journals including the Albertian Review of Literature. Dr. M. Sapna has previously worked with premier institutions across India like the Nirma University, Christ College and Gajera Sankul. She also writes modules for IGNOU’s English Language courses.
