Dr. Tia Mathews was appointed as Assistant Professor in the Department of Commerce in 2014. Prior to this, Tia served various prestigious colleges in Kerala, for over 7 years. In 2012, she was awarded the doctorate degree in Commerce from Mahatma Gandhi University, for her research on ‘Foreign Trade in Natural Rubber. A Case Study with Reference to Kerala’. Tia has accomplished several milestones during her career. She co-authored three books on Banking and Insurance, Principles in Business Management and Financial markets and Operations. She has been instrumental in coordinating several international and national workshops having emphasis on research and socially relevant topics. She currently mentors the M.Phil. students of an autonomous college enrolled under her guidance. As an Albertian, Tia has pioneered several initiatives. She was the Peer Reviewer for National Journals like Journal of Critical Reviews, Bharata Mata Journal of Multidisciplinary Studies, as well as the Chief Editor for the Journal ‘Cognizance’ (Volume 11) of the PG Department of Commerce and Research Centre, and has several research publications to her credit. Currently she is also serving as the Chairman of the Board of Studies in Commerce. Tia has donned many hats as the Secretary of Staff Meetings, the Coordinator of Tourism club, a member of IQAC Data Analysis Committee, an active member of Jesus Youth and a member of the Xavier Board and the Research Committee of the College. Dr. Tia Mathews is currently the Head of the PG Department of Commerce and Research Centre.
